The PMC family law team
Pauline McNamara was the inspiration for the re-brand initiative which created PMC Family Law, a niche boutique family law firm specialising in high-net worth, in July 2016. Having previously also headed up both Cassell Moore Family and DWF’s Liverpool based family department, she brings over thirty years of experience to MSB.
Pauline is an experienced litigator in all areas of family law including divorce, financial ancillary relief, co-habitation disputes and issues relating to children. She is most well-known for her experience in the most complex financial proceedings involving successful business people and football icons.
Her “strong, concise and precise” approach has led to her being widely respected among family practitioners within the North West. Pauline was named as a Recommended Lawyer in the Legal 500 who also described her as “brilliant” heading an excellent team.
She is also a member of the NSPCC Local Business Board and supports the local hospice Jospice. She also supports the Melanie Beattie Appeal Fund in support of Clatterbridge Hospital.
Pauline has acted as a mentor for junior members of her teams, training them into the new generation of solicitors who, following her guidance and support, are able thrive independently.
In her spare time, Pauline is a dedicated Everton FC fan and enjoys reading and trips to Spain.
MSB acquired PMC family law in June 2019
Its eight staff – including Pauline McNamara – joined MSB and its own family division in June 2019.
The deal is part of MSB managing partner Emma Carey’s wider strategy to reinforce the firm’s status in the North. She was formerly head of family at MSB and has transformed the department into a 50-strong outfit.
Pauline McNamara said:
“I have been impressed by Emma’s career and am particularly excited about her vision for the future of MSB, her commitment to the community and her employees, which is aligned with our core principles.
“There is a synergy between the practices whereby we will benefit from each other’s expertise.”
Emma Carey added:
“I have known and admired Pauline McNamara for a number of years and she and her team have a fantastic reputation in family law. I’m genuinely excited for them to be joining our brilliant and highly-motivated MSB family team. The considerable experience they bring opens up huge opportunities for MSB as a firm.”
