Caroline Hamilton-Barrett
Senior Associate Solicitor
Originally from Northern Ireland, Caroline obtained her English Law degree from Dundee University in 2005 before going on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the Chester College of Law.
Caroline qualified as a solicitor with a firm in Cheshire in March 2011 before accepting a position with Pauline McNamara at a Liverpool firm in 2014. In 2018, Caroline was made Deputy Head of Department at PMC Family Law, before the PMC team joined forces with MSB in June 2019.
Caroline forms part of the Private Family team as a Senior Associate and continues to work closely with Head of Department Pauline McNamara.
She practices across all areas of private family law, however specialises in assisting and advising on complex financial disputes ancillary to divorce. She is regularly instructed by high net worth/ultra-high net worth individuals and has been ranked within the Chambers and Partners Guide for three consecutive years – including her addition in 2022’s publication where she was named as an ’associate to watch’. Caroline has also previously been ranked within Legal 500.
She has close links with a wide range of experts including actuaries, financial advisors and senior matrimonial counsel, meaning she is best placed to ensure clients receive the best possible service and advice. Caroline also represents parents and family members within more complicated disputes concerning children to include cases with elements of parental alienation.
She has the ability to adopt a pragmatic, robust approach to her cases and always strives to go above and beyond for her clients.
