Sarah’s journey from a paralegal to a qualified solicitor in the Family Department showcases her dedication and commitment to her career. She has gained invaluable experience across a spectrum of legal matters, particularly focusing on family law, where her passion for supporting victims of domestic abuse shines through.

As a trainee solicitor under the guidance of Associate Solicitor Nicole Ralston, Sarah has been involved in a wide range of Private Children and Public Children matters. She is committed to supporting victims of domestic abuse and she has represented several clients to successfully obtain protective injunctions; she recently published a blog on this issue.

During her time as a paralegal, Sarah also assisted with many highly sensitive cases including complex international children matters, such as international child abduction.

Sarah represents parents in both public and private children matters and continues to build on her experience and expertise in more complex areas.

Sarah understands the difficulties clients may be facing and strives to ensure fair representation. She has been praised by many clients for her compassion and empathy, she cares about her clients and does everything she can to help them achieve the best possible outcome.

Sarah is particularly passionate about equality and inclusion and recognises the importance of these issues both inside and outside of work. She has been involved in the launch of an Inclusive Places Charter Mark for the hospitality sector of Liverpool. Sarah sits on the MSB ESG Committee and has been instrumental in MSB achieving both Level 1 and Level 2 of the Disability Confident employer scheme. Sarah was the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Representative for Merseyside Junior Lawyers’ Division from 2022 – 2023. During that time, she organised an event to raise awareness of the violence against women.

Sarah’s main focus in her work will always be ensuring that the most vulnerable in society are given a voice. She volunteers at Manchester Law Clinic providing free legal advice and believes in access to justice for all. This has led to successfully securing exceptional case funding from the legal aid agency for vulnerable clients.
