Neil trained and qualified in 1989 with Legal 500 firm Weightmans. He successfully practiced in the Commercial Department before being promoted to Partner. Neil subsequently founded his own commercial firm before joining MSB in 2010 to set up and head the now very strong Commercial Property Department.
Neil acts for developers nationwide on-site acquisitions for the purposes of commercial or residential development. His extensive experience means he is able to structure deals in the most effective and profitable way for his clients. Neil has particular expertise in the hotel and residential development sector, where he acts for some of the largest developers in the North West region.
Neil also represents both landlords and tenants in commercial lease transactions, and acts for large landlords in property management work. In addition, he represents many high street lenders, commercial lenders and Bridging Finance companies in secured lending transactions, in addition to advising borrowers.
Renowned as a skilled negotiator, Neil consistently achieves effective outcomes for his clients and is in demand for his commercial and pragmatic approach.
Specialising in the leisure industry, he acts for a wide range of clients including restaurant owners, bar operators and hoteliers. His extensive experience enables him to anticipate issues which particularly affect the sector and offer effective solutions to potential problems.
