Michael McKeown
Criminal Legal Advisor
Michael has spent his whole career working in criminal law, having dealt with criminal matters since 2003. Originally starting in the post room of a busy practice in Liverpool, Michael has established himself as one of the leading caseworkers in the country.
Having an adept eye for detail, his meticulous preparation will often be a deciding factor in a case being dropped or a client being acquitted. Michael specialises in both serious and complex fraud and drug trafficking matters, whether county lines drug supply, Encrochat drug matters or importation. Key to Michael’s success is consideration of computer evidence, cell site analysis, telephone material and instructing his network of leading experts from around the country.
His consideration of this kind evidence has resulted in numerous cases being discontinued from the police station stage, court stage or acquittals after trial.
Michael acts for individuals nationwide, both privately for HNWI’s and when publicly funded.
Having dealt with heavyweight cases since his early 20’s at other leading practices in Liverpool, he has gained significant experience across the criminal law spectrum. He is assisted by a strong team in the criminal department which he joined in 2021. In that time, the department has gone from to strength and his work has assisted the department to remain highly ranked with both the Legal 500 (Tier 1) and Chambers and Partners (Band 2).
