MSB Solicitors’ practice areas and lawyers receive nationwide and regional recognition in Chambers and Partners 2026 list
Liverpool-headquartered law firm MSB Solicitors, which is committed to justice for everyone regardless of their background, is celebrating several of its divisions and lawyers being named in Chambers and Partners’ 2026 list.
The firm’s family team has once again been highly ranked in the North West and its children’s law division, which deals with public law matters, has beaten stiff competition to achieve nationwide recognition in the list for the first time. The division works on complex care and social services proceedings that are frequently funded by Legal Aid.
The family team is headed by Dr Emma Palmer, who was recognised once again in Chambers and Partners’ band 1 list of individual lawyers working in the North West and in band 3 nationally for complex care work.
Partners in the MSB family team, Gemma Kelsey and Pippa Tudor have been recognised again in the directory for their legal prowess achieving rankings in band 2 West Midlands and band 4 North West respectively.
This banding represents lawyers with exceptional technical ability, client service, commercial vision and track record.
Both Michael McKeown, crime specialist, and Louise Murphy, Partner and Head of MSB’s social housing team, complete the line-up of the MSB individuals who have been named in the 2026 list, with both being named in band 2.
Alongside these individual honours, several of MSB’s core practice areas have been recognised as leading regional teams in the North West, including:
- Crime – Band 2
- Family and Matrimonial – Band 2
- Social Housing – Band 3

“Recognition of our team’s dedication”
Emma Carey, Managing Partner at MSB, said:
I am extremely proud of our recognition from Chambers and Partners. It represents the culmination of so much hard work from every member of our team and the skill, ability and foresight of our lawyers who have received individual recognition.
Our commitment to making justice accessible to everyone – from high net-worth individuals to asylum seekers and others from disadvantaged backgrounds, is what motivates our team. To see this officially recognised on a nationwide level, as our Family and Children Law practice has been, is the best validation we could hope to receive, following on from our recent placements in the Legal 500 rankings too.
