Robert Close

Overview

Robert is an associate solicitor specialising in private and public children law matters and associated issues relating to domestic abuse. He began his career clerking in the family courts where he gained valuable courtroom experience, before entering practice and qualifying in 2023. Before joining MSB Robert spent time advising a Local Authority social work department on children issues, which has given him valuable insight when representing parents in care proceedings.

Key Experience

Robert has 10 years experience in family law and is often instructed by parents in cases involving social services, where serious abuse allegations have been made. Robert also regularly accepts instructions via the official solicitor in such cases and often acts for clients with significant vulnerabilities. He regularly acts for parents and grandparents in serious cases involving physical, emotional, financial and sexual abuse and takes pride in his sensitive and empathetic approach to these issues when dealing with clients. Robert also has a keen interest in cases where allegations of parental alienation are made.

During his career Robert has built established links volunteering with local domestic abuse support groups, and has delivered talks in respect of domestic abuse and children matters.
