Liam as Executive Assistant to Dr Emma Palmer, Partner and Head of Family and Rachael Banks, in house Counsel. Liam provides high-level executive, operational and administrative support to Emma and Rachael. Helping to coordinate day to day priorities, departmental projects, advocacy support and business development.


Liam joined MSB Solicitors in early 2024, bringing extensive experience across the legal sector. His background includes eight years at the Legal Aid Agency and seven years working with barristers Chambers as both fees manager and acting practice manager. He has a strong understanding of the practical needs of legal professionals, administration and clients.


As Executive Assistant to Emma Palmer Liam supports the leadership and management of the Family Department. His role includes assisting with diary and workflow management, internal coordination, communications, business development activity, award and directory submissions, departmental planning and the organisation of key projects. Liam also helps to maintains clear communication across the wider team, supporting Emma with operational priorities and ensuring that administrative and strategic tasks are progressed in a timely and professional manner.


Liam also works closely with Rachael Banks in her role as in house Counsel. Drawing on his Chambers background Liam assists with the coordination of advocacy related work, fee administration, diary management and general clerking. His experience in Chambers management gives him a practical understanding of how advocates and solicitors work together, enabling him to support Rachael with a high level or skill.


Liam also has a strong working knowledge of legal costs, both from a solicitor's point of view and from a barrister's point of view.


Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)

Liam volunteers time to assist in queries relating to fees and billing administration from external Counsel and from clerks and administrators through the Institute of Barristers Clerks. He has detailed knowledge and understanding of Legal Aid funding, billing and the administrative requirements that sit behind effective legal practice.
