MSB Solicitors is a progressive, full-service law firm with a well-established Housing & Regeneration practice acting for Registered Providers, Housing Associations and social housing clients across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters.

As part of the continued growth of our Real Estate team, we are looking to recruit an ambitious Associate Solicitor to support the expansion of our specialist social housing transactional offering.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing area of strategic importance to the firm and play a key role in developing our offering for Registered Providers and Housing Associations.

The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced Real Estate Partner and our established Housing & Regeneration team, supporting clients on a range of affordable housing and commercial property transactions.

This role offers genuine progression opportunities and the chance to help shape a growing specialist practice.

Most importantly, this role offers the opportunity to help build and shape a specialist social housing real estate practice within an ambitious and expanding firm.

The Role

You will work as part of a developing specialist Real Estate sub-team focused on social housing and affordable housing transactions.

The role will involve handling a varied caseload including:

·       Shared ownership transactions;

·       Staircasing matters;

·       Right to Buy transactions;

·       Affordable housing disposals and acquisitions;

·       Commercial lease work;

·       Asset management matters;

·       General commercial property transactions for Registered Providers and Housing Associations;

·       Supporting on development and regeneration matters as the practice grows.

You will also work closely with colleagues within the Housing & Regeneration team to provide a joined-up service to clients operating in the social housing sector.

About You

We are interested in hearing from candidates who:

·       Are qualified solicitors in England & Wales;

·       Ideally have between 2–6 years’ PQE;

·       Have experience in commercial property, residential development, affordable housing or social housing transactions;

·       Have strong technical and client management skills;

·       Are commercially minded and proactive;

·       Are interested in developing a long-term specialism within the social housing sector.

Experience acting for Registered Providers or Housing Associations would be advantageous but is not essential for candidates with strong transferable commercial property or development experience.
