Abs Lalji

Trainee Solicitor

Abs joined MSB in December 2019 as a paralegal and started his Training Contract with us in September 2020.

Abs graduated with a 1st Class Law Degree from Liverpool John Moores University in 2016 and received a scholarship to study the Bar in 2017. Abs has a solid background in social housing, having previously worked in property litigation and social housing at two firms in London, before a brief spell gaining experience with an American firm working in international litigation.

Abs is currently developing a practice within social housing and regeneration, and he is specifically interested in Anti-Social Behaviour, housing management and private property litigation on behalf of registered providers. Given Abs’ background in advocacy, he also intends to quality as a solicitor-advocate in order to appear in Court for substantive hearings on behalf of his clients.

Abs’ research interests include corporate governance in social housing, and he intends to write a dissertation in the subject as part of the masters he is currently studying for. Abs has recently written a piece on the Landlord’s Licensing Scheme for the Liverpool Law Society Magazine, and hopes to publish more housing insights in the coming year.

Outside of work, Abs enjoys barhopping, going to the beach and following Liverpool FC.
