This month, we bade an official (and emotional) farewell to Paul Bibby – our leader for the past 28 years.

More than 200 guests turned out at The Fly in the Loaf on Hardman Street, including staff, clients and representatives of Liverpool’s business community – all wanting to wish Paul a fond farewell.

Paul announced his retirement in October. At the same time it was revealed that former head of family, Emma Carey, would assume the role of managing partner.

In a tribute to Paul on the evening, Emma said: “Pride and passion runs through MSB and that comes from the proud and passionate leadership that Paul has demonstrated over the past 28 years.

“Paul didn’t necessarily teach me any law, but he did build my confidence beyond bounds. Every step of the way on my journey as a lawyer Paul pushed me forward and made me believe in myself and my abilities. He made me believe that there were no limits to what I could achieve.

“I know there are many people in this room that have felt the sheer force of his belief. Throughout his career at MSB, Paul has supported and empowered his staff, given them every opportunity to grow and has shared in the joy and pride of their collective glories. We will miss him dearly.”

Paul Bibby said: “I’m incredibly proud of all that I have helped to achieve over the past 28 years. MSB is so important to me, and always will be.”

Paul, who joined co-founder Sean Sexton in 1989, will remain with the firm in an advisory role.
