Organisers of the Liverpool Irish Festival along with Liverpool-Irish networking organisation, Connected Irish, are urging businesses to Go Green for St Patricks Day.
Liverpool is a city known for its deep-rooted Irish connections - it is estimated that 50-75% of the population here are of Irish descent.
So, this March 17th, businesses are asked to celebrate our Irish heritage by illuminating their buildings green.
Liverpool Central Library and events space Constellations in the Baltic district have already pledged their support and campaign organisers hope to attract as many buildings as possible ahead of the festivities.
Emma Smith, director of the Liverpool Irish Festival, says: “Celebrating Irish arts and culture in all its forms, the Liverpool Irish Festival, Connected Irish and partners across the city are taking this moment to consider what St Patrick’s means to Liverpudlians by 'greening the city' and we need you to help us.
“To be clear, this will use no more power than the existing lighting used, it will just give the city an emerald glow. Let’s show how much Liverpool loves Ireland!”
Partner at MSB, Eamonn Sexton, is a member of Connected Irish and the firm support many of the organisations initiatives to promote and uphold Irish culture and traditions.
