MSB Woolton FC held it’s annual presentation day on Saturday, 1st July. Presentation days are an opportunity to reward the efforts of the club’s young players and celebrate their collective progress throughout the season.

The event was held at the club’s ground, Camp Hill in Woolton. Former Everton FC midfielder and commentator Graham Stuart came along to meet young players and their families, as well fellow former Everton midfielder and MSB Woolton ambassador Ian Snodin and Liverpool FC legend John Barnes.

MSB Woolton FC operates in excess of 70 teams from under-7 through to under-21, as well as having a veterans’ team, two men’s open age teams, women’s open age team and five girl’s teams from under-10 to under-16.

Most of the teams play in the Merseyside and Halewood Junior Football League but are also represented in the South Liverpool, Belle Vale, West Derby and Halton Leagues.

The club also runs a football academy, introducing children as young as three to the sport, with a focus on fun and learning. The academy is run by Colin Windrow and supported by a team of coaches with the shared aim of giving young children an early sense of group participation.

MSB Solicitors became the clubs official sponsor in 2015. The decision came as part of ongoing efforts to support and promote the development of grassroots sporting talent in the city and the impact of sport on both personal and professional development.

Managing partner at MSB, Paul Bibby says: “We had been in touch with the club for some time and had always admired their efforts in promoting sport, not just the physical benefits, but also the ways football and sport in general can help to sustain psychological and emotional wellbeing.

“Sport and exercise has a demonstrable impact on the way we function cognitively and can help develop essential social and interaction skills. It is something we are very happy to endorse and we continue to be impressed by the passion and professionalism Dave Woods and his team.”

Partner and co-founder of MSB, Sean Sexton, added: “MSB Woolton FC is one of the largest amateur football clubs in the country. But it is local to us, it’s ground is based just down the road from our Allerton Road office.

“When we got the opportunity to partner with MSB Woolton FC, we were delighted. There’s a real sense of camaraderie, passion for the sport and plenty of vision for future development and we’re very, very proud to be part of that.

“The people involved with MSB Woolton FC are our clients, our family, our community. For us, it’s a win-win.”

Chairman at MSB Woolton FC, Dave Woods said: "The club has undergone some real transformation in its ten years, from what was a youth centre team to becoming an umbrella for some 70 teams and reaching Charter Standard Community Club status.

"With the support of an established firm like MSB, we're confident that we can go even further in realising some of the many ambitions we have for the club."

MSB Woolton FC Academy manager, Colin Windrow, added: “I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved at the club, but we’re focused on further development and we simply couldn’t do it without the help of MSB.”
