MSB Solicitors Liverpool
MSB have significantly expanded our South Liverpool headquarters, taking on more than 1000 sq feet of additional back office space on Allerton Road.
The extra space entails the first and second floor at 74 Allerton Road, directly opposite our flagship office, and will be devoted entirely to our growing residential property department. Four fee earners and four support staff have already occupied the new space, with room for up to six further staff.
In a restructuring, conveyancing executive Craig Passey will head the off plan purchase team and a new team has been created specifically to deal with the increasing new build residential housing market. Partner Tracey Quirk will oversee the development of the department and will be responsible for handling more complex or high value matters.
Managing partner Paul Bibby said: “The expansion comes further to our city centre office move to 4 St Paul’s Square and is further linked with being able to house and support our growing team.
“Staff numbers at MSB have risen by around 30 per cent in the last 12 months. This growth hasn’t been part of a deliberate recruitment drive, rather organic growth in order to meet the demands of a spike in case work. It’s great to see and long may it continue.”
The Allerton Road unit will also house MSBs cloud-based file archiving system meaning that the firm will be able to dispense with off site paper storage in due course.
More than 80 leading members of Liverpool’s buoyant business community gathered at Liverpool’s Hilton Hotel on February 3 for Limitless II – a half day conference organised by Downtown in Business.
This was the second instalment from the team – whose members boast some of the city’s most successful business leaders and entrepreneurs – and this time focussed on the power of a positive mindset in order to experience high growth, with a programme that aimed to motivate, set aspirations and encourage philanthropic business practises.
The morning featured talks from a range of esteemed entrepreneurs spanning the digital, lifestyle, charity, financial and professional services sectors, including our very own managing partner Paul Bibby.

We are thrilled to have been short-listed for best small firm at this year’s Northern Power Women Awards.
The Northern Power Women Awards was set up to promote gender equality in the North of England, accelerate gender pay parity and create real life role models.
The awards aim to celebrate those individuals and organisations who are demonstrably taking strides to alter business culture to create equal opportunities for all.

MSB Solicitors, who have three offices in Allerton, Wavertree and the city centre, have moved their commercial headquarters to No4 St Pauls Square.

The move comes after staff numbers at MSB have risen by more than 10% since January. The firm now employ 100 people across three sites and have announced five new partners will be appointed in March 2017.

Managing partner Paul Bibby established MSB in 1988 with head of crime Sean Sexton. Since then, the firm has expanded significantly and in 2010, MSB moved into premises in Silkhouse Court to accommodate their growing private client and commercial teams.

MSBs new office, located on the first floor No4 St Pauls, boasts more than 5,500 sq ft in the heart of Liverpool’s commercial district. St Pauls Square has become the essential address for professional services firms in the city.

Christmas for most of us means shopping, socialising and generally being surrounded by family, friends and loved ones – but for many people Christmas can be the loneliest time of the year.
Family partner at Liverpool law firm MSB, Emma Carey, said: “For people in psychologically or physically abusive relationships, the hustle and bustle of Christmas can make many feel incredibly isolated.”
Emma says that whilst the majority of us are making merry over the festive period, lawyers are noticing a rise in the number of injunctions and restraining orders taken out around Christmastime.
She says that the lead up to Christmas can, for many, be a time fuelled by fear as financial pressures and more frequent consumption of alcohol can put additional pressures on fragile or volatile relationships resulting in a seasonal spike in domestic abuse.

MSB are delighted to announce that we will be a presenting sponsor at the Liverpool Hope University International Tennis Tournament next year.
The tournament, which will be in its 16th year, will be held in June at Aigburth Cricket Club, which frequently hosts Lancashire county cricket club fixtures.
MSB has heeded the call from tournament organiser Anders Borg for the city region’s private sector to get behind the event, which has previously attracted top ranking players and legends such as Martina Navratilova John McEnroe and Greg Rusedski.

MSB is emerging as a key player in the growth of Liverpool booming bar and restaurant sector.

Laura Harrild in MSBs commercial property team has become the ‘go-to’ solicitor for hospitality entrepreneurs who need help with complex legal issues such as lease negotiations.

In recent months, she has acted for bars and restaurants including Dead Crafty Beer Company on Dale Street and Three Piggies on Allerton Road – the latest offering from the team behind Tribeca, who also have restaurants based on Smithdown Road and Berry Street.

This month, we are pleased to welcome Polish solicitor Joanna Jandula to our family team.
Joanna, who is fluent in English and Polish, specialises in all aspects of relationship breakdown including divorce, division of finances, residence and contact arrangements for children, international relocation of children and international child abduction.  After obtaining a Master’s Degree in law and administration in Poland, Joanna went on to complete a second degree at the University of Central Lancashire and qualified as a solicitor in January 2014.
