Job Specification

To oversee the induction of all new members of staff from initial induction through to completion of their six month trial period.

Induction for members of staff who move jobs internally.

Monitor and collate all annual L&D records for staff, Development Records, Development Plans and Training Evaluation forms in accordance with Lexcel requirements.

To ensure that all courses are properly assessed in accordance with Lexcel requirements.

Managing the firm’s Learning Management System, ensuring staff complete annual statutory compliance training in accordance with Lexcel requirements, chasing and ensuring record keeping up to date.

To assist in our commitment to training the next generation of lawyers by assisting in the implementation of our policy with regard to work experience/summer placements.

Induct and train summer and work placements and liaise with relevant fee earners.

Liaise with Management with regards to overall training requirements.

Working with Heads of Departments, Proclaim / IT departments to design and deliver training courses across departments in order to meet organisational, departmental and individual development needs and any IT changes.

Preparing step by step training guides for departments in respect of all areas of IT.

Evaluate success of learning interventions and report to senior management.

Assisting the firm’s Training Principal with the administration in respect of Trainee Solicitors.

Externally

To assess training providers and keep a comprehensive register of all training providers within the areas we require.

To disseminate information with regard external training courses of relevance.

To assist in events organisation in respect of any training courses put by MSB, i.e. annual Money Laundering/GDPR and any new compliance training relevant.

Skills required

A comprehensive understanding of all the firms software products, i.e. Proclaim, 1HR, BigHand, Microsoft office.

An understanding of the areas of work that MSB provide and the separate departments and services and they provide.

An understanding of each member of staff/partners requirements with regard to training under Lexcel, the SRA and any other regulatory body that they may need to comply with.

A comprehensive understanding of the firms manual, practices and procedures of MSB and bring this understanding to all new members of staff.

A commitment to work in all four offices and have own transport.
