Road Traffic Accident

MSB recently acted for a claimant seeking damages as a result of injuries sustained following a collision with a car travelling in the opposite direction. MSB were successful in gaining an admission of liability from the defendant and advised the claimant on the merits  of several offers put forward by the defendant’s insurers to settle the matter. MSB were successful in establishing that the claimant had developed tinnitus as a direct consequence of the collision.  Following further negotiation conducted on behalf of the client and upon considering MSB’s advice the claimant agreed a settlement figure of £33,500.00 with the Defendant’s insurer.

Road Traffic Accident

MSB recently acted on behalf of a claimant seeking damages as a result of a  Road Traffic Accident. The claimant was leaning on her car, stood between the car door and the body of the car. A passing van stuck the car door, momentarily crushing the Claimant. MSB obtained medical evidence on behalf of the client which indicated that she would make a full recovery within 14-16 months. We were successful in obtaining an admission of liability from the Defendant’s insurer and subsequently negotiated a four-figure settlement sum which was gratefully accepted by the client.

Claim for Compensation against the Motor Insurers Bureau (untraced)

We recently assisted a client in making a claim via the Motor Insurers Bureau following injuries sustained as a result of being hit by an untraced driver. The client, who was in his sixties, was in his GP’s car park when a vehicle reversed into him. The driver left the scene and the client suffered a fractured ankle. We submitted an application for compensation to the Motor Insurers Bureau on behalf of the client and were successful in negotiating an offer of a five-figure settlement including the provision of rehabilitation for the client.

Occupier’s liability

MSB recently advised a client in relation to damages sought as a result of injuries suffered whilst colliding with an unmarked window at a Liverpool retail complex. The client suffered injuries to her face and knee as well as emotional anxiety as a result of the incident. We were successful in firstly negotiating an admission of liability and then a four figure settlement on behalf of the client. MSB’s involvement in the case also raised a prominent health and safety issue at the complex as a result of the accident which occurred within days of the opening of the complex. The hazard was subsequently addressed and made safe.

Claim for Compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority

We have recently advised a client in relation to an application to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority for damages as a result of an incident from which the client suffered temporary mental anxiety. The client, who was an employee at a betting shop, was followed into the shop after opening by two men who subsequently confronted her and forced her to open the safe. MSB advised the client in relation to a four figure settlement which was proposed by the CICA following their investigations into the matter and the client subsequently accepted the offer.

Accident at work

Following on from our receipt of expert medical evidence as to the extent of the injuries, we  ably negotiated a four-figure settlement on behalf of our client.
